Richard Dreyfuss to Accept Lifetime Achievement Award At 2009 ONFilm Festival
NORFOLK, Va. – Academy Award-winning actor Richard Dreyfuss, who will open the 2009 independent ONFilm Festival
at Old Dominion University, will accept the ONFilm Lifetime Achievement Award. Probably best known for his roles
in “Jaws,”“The Goodbye Girl,”“Close Encounters of the Third Kind,”“Mr. Holland's Opus”and, most recently, the 2008
biopic “W.” as former vice president Dick Cheney, Dreyfuss will accept the ONFilm Lifetime Achievement Award on
March 25 in the Big Blue Room of the Ted Constant Convocation Center when he kicks off this year’s ONFilm Festival.
The program, “A Conversation with Richard Dreyfuss,” will feature a Q&A with Cathy Lewis of WHRV-FM’s “HearSay.” It
is free and open to the public. The ONFilmFestival, which runs from March 25-28, features independently produced

Richard Dreyfuss Opens 2009 ONFILMFEST
Norfolk… After an 11-year run as a retrospective film festival, the 2009 Old Dominion University – City of Norfolk (ONFILM) Festival has gone
competitive, screening more than 30 top INDIE films from around the world. The ONFILMFEST runs from March 25-28 and features independently
produced features, documentaries, shorts and shorts on the ODU campus and in various Norfolk venues.
Academy Award-winning actor Richard Dreyfuss will start festival goers talking with “A Conversation with Richard Dreyfuss “ hosted by Cathy
Lewis of HearSay on 89.5WHRV/WHRO. The event begins at 7:30pm Wednesday, March 25 in the big Blue Room of the Ted Constant Convocation Center.
It is FREE and open to the public.
Film producer Stephen Israel will chair the jury of the 2009 Old Dominion University / City of Norfolk Film Festival of Independent Film (ONFilmFest).
The panel of judges comprises film directors and producers, as well as film industry executives, and includes Virginian-Pilot film critic Mal Vincent.

The 2009 Old Dominion University—City of Norfolk Film Festival will
continue the fine tradition of film screenings, symposia, lectures,
panel discussions and social events inaugurated a decade ago. The
ONFilm Festival of Independent Film will for the first time screen
only Independent Films, offering prizes and screenings by film
industry executives as it becomes one of the premiere film festivals
